A video shared by a YouTube channel named “Gambia Kibaaro Network” titled “Donald Trump called Adama Barrow the most usele$$ President in Africa” has amassed more than five thousand views, seventy plus comments and counting as per the publication of the fact check.

Our researchers utilising digital tools make a quick Google search with the same title showing three results and one of the results stood out with a post made 9 months back which was on March 28, of 2024 on TikTok by an account named “angry defiant” with the title “According to Donald Trump Adama Barrow is the most USELESS president in Africa” the original source of the video.

In order to verify the authenticity of the audio, we utilised Elevenlabs a platform to create and detect ai-generated audio – after uploading the audio the result was a 98% probability that the audio was generated. To take it a step further we dissected the original video in key-frames, in which we ran a reverse image search of the image of Donald Trump, the results, we got were similar images of Trump in the same pose with a watermark attached to every image on the top right corner written has “made with TryParrotAI.com”.

From the original video of the claim, we can see that on the same exact position of the results, we found on google image reverse search with a sticker written on it “TRUMP ON BARROW” is hiding the watermark “made with TryParrotAI.com” which is covering some facial part of Trump.

We dug deeper by making a search on Google for “tryparrotai.com” to learn more about the platform and the results is that the platform is developed to generate top celebrity voices to create fun audio clips to roast friends, and family, send birthday messages, and light up group chats.

In conclusion, the video shared by Gambia Kibarro Network is false and misleading. The video has been created using an Ai video and audio generation platform called tryparrotai.com. We urge the general public to be cautious of such content that is widely shared on Tiktok and other mainstream platforms like Facebook and YouTube, such Ai-generated content can lead to harm and distort trust in public officials.
