FINDINGS

On April 14th, 2023, KERR FATOU- an online media outlet made a claim on Tuesday that “A clash between the National People’s Party (NPP) and the breakaway faction of the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) commonly called “No to Alliance” left two people arrested on Tuesday night.”, which led to the arrest of three people including Matarr Kujabi of ‘NO TO Alliance’.

Our research team launched a fact check on the matter after the issue was raised on social media, and one Pa Modou Kujabi, the spokesperson of APRC ‘No To Alliance’ has confirm to the Fact Check Center that Matarr Kujabi and two other people are in custody at Banjuling police station after the clash between the two parties.

Still on our findings on the said claim, our team has reached out to the Banjulinding police station and confirmed that the claim made by KERR FATOU is true and the parties involve are still in custody.

CONCLUSION

Following a news report by the Kerr Fatou media that one Matarr Kujabi, the administrative secretary of ‘NO TO Alliance’, and two others were arrested and detained under police custody after a clash with the NPP. We have confirmed that the detention of the said individuals and further found out that they are currently being held at the Banjulinding police station.
