We looked into this claim and found it’s just not true. No government agency, school, or any legit group has said a word about this program. Usually, you’d see announcements like this on official sites, in the news, or through press releases—but there’s absolutely nothing out there about this one.
The link in the message does not go to any official government or school site. Instead, it takes you to a sketchy platform that looks like it’s just trying to grab your personal information and there’s no contact details or social media linked to the site—another big red flag that something’s off.
To verify the authenticity of the website, we looked up the domain to see when it was registered, and it turns out the site was created on October 4, 2023. That’s pretty odd for a program claiming to be this big. Using the Wayback Machine to examine the website’s history, we found that its first archived snapshot was taken on August 03, 2024, when it claimed to be offering laptops for a “2024 program”. They’ve now updated the site to say it’s for a 2025 program. Seems like they’re just changing the year to keep the scam alive.
Just to be sure, we double-checked the website using URLVoid, a tool that scans domains against a variety of malware and phishing databases. The analysis showed that the site is flagged as unsafe, with BitDefender a respected security firm, identifying it as unsafe as well and also the message says some students have already gotten their laptops, but we couldn’t find any real proof, no photos and no testimonial making it hard to believe that claim.
