FINDING:
Following a recent publication made by NAMASITA.COM on the 13th February, 2024 claiming that “The Gambia appointsSang Ndong as National Football Team’’. We have made confirmation on the said publication by contacting the Gambia Football Federation (GFF); speaking to Mr Babucarr Camara; who is the Communication Director at the GFF confirmed the information is false, although an advertisement is on the way to be publish on the newspaper for the vacancy of the position for the coach of the Gambia National Football Team. Mr Camarafurther stated no advertisement has been made for persons to apply for the position. He further highlighted that, the procedure to appoint the National Team Coach involves publication of vacancy, shortlisting qualified candidates by the technical and development committee whom also conduct the interview for the position and make recommendation for the Executive Committee of the GFF who in consultation with the Ministry of Youths and Sports will make a decision on the final candidate to appoint as the National head Coach. Mr Sang Ndong also confirmed the aforementioned publication is false and there is no appointment of him being the coach of the national team for the Gambia.
CONCLUSION:
Having made all these findings and confirmation on the subject matter. The Gambia Football Federation confirms that the publication of the appointment of Mr. Sang Ndong as the National Football Team Coach is false and all information about the vacancy of the National Football Team Coach shall be publish on the Newspaper.
