FACT SHEET: The tragic incident of a shootout at Sukuta traffic lights killed two police officers and hospitalized one.

This claim has been verified as true, as confirmed by Commissioner Jallow. The identity of the shooter is yet to be known, but it is known that three officers were shot during the incident.

The victims include Pateh Jallow, a former student of Mayork Upper Basic and Senior Secondary School, originally from Kampasa in Foni Jarrol, who was working with the police intervention unit. He was on duty with Sang .J Gomez from Kitty 1, and both male officers tragically lost their lives at the scene. Additionally, Nancy Jawo was also shot during the incident, and she is currently receiving treatment at Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul.

The Gambia Police Force has launched an unwavering manhunt to track down the suspected shooter, who is believed to be evading capture in the wake of this incident.
